KATHMANDU: Sandeep Lamichhane has left for the UAE to play League 2 cricket.

He took the 3 p.m. flight to the UAE with Roshan Kumar Singh, the treasurer of the Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN).

Sandeep will play in the match between the UAE and Nepal, which is scheduled for tomorrow Thursday.

Mausam Dhakal, the team’s other spinner, was injured, so Sandeep will take his place.

Sandeep has already been granted permission to join the team by the ICC.

Previously, the Supreme Court ruled on Monday that Sandeep should not be detained again and should be allowed to travel abroad.

The division bench of Supreme Court justices Sapana Pradhan Malla and Kumar Chundal decided that Sandeep, who is on trial for rape of a minor, should not be remanded in custody.
