POKHARA: The Prithvi Highway, which connects Pokhara to Kathmandu, is currently being expanded.

The road is wide, but the bridge is narrow, making traffic management difficult.

The Seti River bridge at Prithvi Chowk has only two lanes.

The road from Muglin to Pokhara is now four lanes wide. A contract has also been signed to expand the road in the urban area to six lanes.

Accordingly, the bridge over Seti River near Prithvi Chowk is also going to be expanded. 2 bridges are going to be added to the right and left by keeping the current bridge as it is.

A contract has been signed with Rasuwa Construction to add 2 bridges to the existing bridge label. This bridge is meant to be attractive.

Sudarshan Devkota, representative of the construction company, said that both bridges will be 190 meters long.

A 13-meter-wide bridge with a carriageway of 7-and-a-half meters, 3-meter footpaths on both sides, and a tower will be built. The work was agreed to be completed in 36 months.

The cost of constructing two bridges is estimated to be 94 crores. As in Seti, construction of an attractive bridge on the Madi river at Damauli in Tanahun has begun.

The work of upgrading the Muglin Pokhara road in two sections from Aanbu Khaireni to Pokhara is in full swing.
