Chitwan-2 by-election: These are the 18 registered parties
Electoral Commission spokesperson Shaligram Sharma Poudel informed that 18 parties have been registered within the one-week deadline.
KATHMANDU: Eighteen parties have been registered for the by-elections to be held on April 15 in Chitwan Constituency No. 2.
The Election Commission had fixed the deadline for party registration from Feb 22 to 28.
Electoral Commission spokesperson Shaligram Sharma Poudel informed that 18 parties have been registered within the one-week deadline.
CPN-UML, Nepali Congress, CPN-Maoist Centre, Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) and Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) have registered their parties for the by-elections.
Similarly, Nepal Workers Peasants Party (NWPPP), Rastriya Janamorcha, Nagarik Unmukti Party, Hamro Nepali Party, Nepali Congress (BP), Mongolian National Organization, Rastriya Nagarik Party, Rastriya Janamukti, CPN Maoist Socialist, Purna Jagaran Party, Maulik Jarokilo, Rastriya Mukti Aandolan and Jai Janmukti Party have also registered their parties, according to the Election Commission.
By-elections are about to be held in Chitwan-2 after the seat of Rabi Lamichhane, chairman of the RSP , was revoked after the court order in the citizenship case.
