Maha Shivaratri: Seven hundred thousand people visited Pashupati

KATHMANDU: On the occasion of Mahashivratri, seven lakh devotees visited Pashupati’s original temple on Saturday.

According to Rewatiraman Adhikari, spokesperson for the Pashupati Area Development Fund, seven lakh devotees visited the original temple. Likewise, it is estimated that nearly 1.5 million devotees have visited the temple grounds.

From 3 a.m., there was a line to enter the Pashupatinath temple. Yesterday, five lines were set up for the visitors. Yesterday, visitors complained about having to wait in long lines. The Pashupati Area Development Fund, on the other hand, claims that the line was fixed yesterday.

The fund’s spokesperson, Rewatiraman Adhikari, stated that the queue was long due to an increase in the number of pilgrims.

He claimed that pilgrims could easily have darshan. Visitors, on the other hand, complained about having to wait in line for two hours yesterday.

It is also estimated that more than 1.5 million offerings were collected from pilgrims on the occasion of Shivaratri. Today, the temple offering will be counted.

According to Rewatiraman Adhikari, the fund’s spokesperson, over 1.5 million offerings have been collected based on the number of devotees.

According to him, preparations are being made to bid farewell to the saint who arrived in Pashupati on the occasion of Maha Shivaratri tomorrow.

It is customary for Sadhus from various countries, including India, to be bid farewell by Fund and Guthi Sansthan. They are preparing to bid farewell by giving donations ranging from 500 to 8000 by classifying the level of saints.

On the occasion of Maha Shivaratri, the Pashupatinath temple was colored and garlands were placed around it. Similarly, according to the fund, cleaning of the Pashupati temple area will begin today.
