Maha Shivaratri: Both parties who sell & consume marijuana to face consequences

KATHMANDU: On the occasion of Maha Shivaratri, 3500 policemen have been mobilized in Pashupatinath area.
Under the leadership of SP Sitaram Rijal, the District Police Complex Kathmandu has devised a security plan that will see 3500 police officers deployed.
The police were called in on Friday evening, according to the security plan. According to police analysis, the main security challenges during Shivaratri are drug-using youths, pickpocketing, and theft.
SP Rijal stated that a plan has been developed to address the security issue.
According to the security plan, 8 “reserve” forces will be kept ready at a rate of 15 people for the security of Shivaratri.
The police’s primary role in the temple is line management, theft control, marijuana control, and riot control. The police have prohibited the sale and consumption of marijuana in the Pashupati area. ‘We will take action in cases where marijuana is sold and consumed,’ said SP Rizal.
