Nepal beat Scotland by 3 wickets

KATHMANDU: Nepal defeated Scotland in the ICC World Cup Cricket League Two triangular one-day international series.

Nepal defeated Scotland by 3 wickets at the TU Cricket Ground on Friday in an ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup League 2 match.

Nepal reached the 275-run target set by Scotland despite losing 7 wickets in 47 overs.

Nepal’s opener Kushal Bhurtel scored 16 runs in 8 balls with four fours. Asif Shaikh, another opener, scored 9 runs in 14 balls.

Similarly, Gyanendra Malla was dismissed after scoring four runs in three balls, while captain Rohit Paudel scored six runs in ten balls. Kushal Malla, who came in after captain Rohit was out, scored 81 runs off 67 balls, including nine fours and four sixes. This is Kushal’s longest one-day international run.

Dipendra Singh Airee scored 85 runs off 116 balls, while Sandeep Zora scored 5 runs. Dipendra’s second fifty in one-day internationals. He also has a century to his name.

Scotland has 48 points after winning 23 of 34 games and losing nine of them, three games ahead of the World Cup League Two champions.
