Phalelung’s decides to change the name of Thoklimba to ‘Thakepung’
Thakepung is the old and historically spoken and written name of the area where the office is located, which was previously named Thoklimba, according to the gazette.
KATHMANDU: The name of Panchthar’s Phalelung Rural Municipality has been changed, according to the rural municipality. The village executive office, Thoklimba, has been renamed Thakepung.
According to the decision of the Phalelung Rural Municipality, village executive meeting on Feb 5, the official gazette has been published in accordance with the decision to name the rural municipality’s office location Thakepung.
Thakepung is the old and historically spoken and written name of the area where the office is located, which was previously named Thoklimba, according to the gazette.
Dambar Bahadur Angdembe, the chief administrative officer of the municipality, informed that the word Thakepung has been used in all government documents and administrative functions and signs as well.
