KATHMANDU: Congress leader and MP Chandra Bhandari was injured when a cooking gas cylinder exploded.

Both of them were immediately rushed to Kirtipur Burn Hospital for treatment.
According to the hospital doctors, about 25 percent of Dr. Bhandari’s body and about 70 percent of his mother’s body have been affected by burns.
Meanwhile, Chandra Bhandari’s secretariat has said that no new update has come from hospital sources about the mother and child’s health condition. “Right now, check-up and treatment work is being done in the ICU of Honorable Dr. Chandra Bhandari and mother Harikala Bhandari. “There is no new update from the hospital sources,” Private Secretary Bhuwan Bhusal said, “We will know more after 8 o’clock after the expert doctors’ check-up and further consultation.”
