KATHMANDU: Thousands of saints and sadhus have started arriving in Pashupatinath Temple with the Maha Shivaratri 2079 festival approaching near.

The Pashupati area is currently being cleaned and managed in preparation for Maha Shivaratri. With the arrival of sadhus, the Pashupati area has started to become densely crowded.

The activities of saints and Naga Babas in the Pashupatinath temple area have begun a few days before Maha Shivaratri.

According to mythology, Lord Shiva first appeared in the form of Shivalinga on the day of Maha Shivaratri. It is believed that Lord Brahma and Vishnu were the first to perform this form of worship at that time.

Several committees have been formed to help make the Maha Shivaratri festival a success.
