Chinese company gets contract of printing 310 million notes of 20 rupees

KATHMANDU: Nepal Rastra Bank has hands a contract to a Chinese company to print 310 million notes of 20 rupees.

MS China Banknote Printing and Minting Corporation got the contract to print the banknotes of that amount for 4,698 thousand 685 US dollars in China.

Three companies were technically successful in the National Bank’s tender process.

The tender was also attended by companies from India and France, in addition to the Chinese company.

Allowing the aforementioned Chinese firm to print 20 rupee notes will cost 2 rupees per net.
