Minister Kirati’s directive to monitor Pashupati area via CCTV

KATHMANDU: Sudan Kirati, Minister of Culture, Tourism, and Civil Aviation, has directed that security arrangements in the Pashupati area be tightened during Mahashivaratri.

Participating in a cleanliness drive of Mahashivaratri, he instructed that CCTV be kept on to strengthen the security system on that occasion.

During the cleanliness campaign which started today with the slogan ‘Swach Pashupati, Safa Pashupati’ (Pure Pashupatinath Clean Pashupatinath), Minister Kirati instructed the fund officials to keep separate ‘dustbins’ for the management of rotable and non-rotable waste in this area.

He also directed that convenient toilets be set up for visitors to the Pashupati area.

The cleanliness campaign in the Pashupati area, which began today, will last a week.

As Mahashivratri approaches, work on painting, repairing, and decorating flowers and electric lights has already begun in the Pashupati area, according to Dr. Milan Kumar Thapa, Member Secretary of the Pashupati Area Development Fund.
