Surya Nepal teams up with Nepal Army for ‘Mountain Cleanup Campaign 2023’
The campaign, which aims to preserve nature, biodiversity, and mountains, aims to collect 35 tons of trash from three mountain peaks, including the world's highest peak, Mount Everest.
KATHMANDU: Surya Nepal Pvt Ltd, one of Nepal’s leading FMCG companies, is contributing 11 million Nepali Rupees to the Mountain Cleanup Campaign 2023, which will be coordinated by the Nepal Army, as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR).
The Centre for Research and Sustainable Development (CRSSD), a Nepal-based NGO, will also be a campaign partner.
The campaign, which aims to preserve nature, biodiversity, and mountains, aims to collect 35 tons of trash from three mountain peaks, including the world’s highest peak, Mount Everest. Mount Lhotse and Mount Annapurna will also be included in the campaign.
In a program organized on Tuesday, a tripartite agreement was signed between Nepal Army, Surya Nepal Pvt Ltd, and CRSSD, Nepal.
Brigadier General Sundar Kumar Pandey, Lt. Colonel Kishor Adhikari from Nepal Army, Ravi K Rayavaram, Managing Director of Surya Nepal Pvt Ltd, Prem Narayan Aryal, Manager of Surya Nepal Pvt Ltd, and Anand Mishra from CRSSD Nepal were present in the program.
Surya Nepal Pvt. Ltd was also a partner in last year’s Mountain Cleanup campaign and had contributed 7.5 million rupees for the cause.
Surya Nepal Prakriti is one of Surya Nepal Private Limited’s CSR platforms, through which the company conducts various CSR activities aimed at environmental preservation in order to create a cleaner and greener Nepal.
