NA Vice Chair Aryal took oath
Following her swearing in, Aryal is expected to report to the Federal Parliament Secretariat, Singha Durbar, and resume her duties.
KATHMANDU: Urmila Aryal, the newly elected Vice Speaker of the National Assembly, has taken the oath of office.
Speaker of the National Assembly Ganesh Prasad Timilsina administered the oath to her in the President’s Office at Sheetal Niwas, in the presence of the President.
Following her swearing in, Aryal is expected to report to the Federal Parliament Secretariat, Singha Durbar, and resume her duties.
On Monday, she was elected unopposed as Vice Chair of the National Assembly, the upper house of the Federal Parliament.
Aryal was the only candidate from the power alliance for the position of Vice Chair of the National Assembly.
She was declared unopposed by National Assembly Speaker Timalsina, despite being a member of the Maoist Center’s Standing Committee.
