Manoj Pandey jailed for 7 years in human trafficking case

KATHMANDU: Manoj Pandey, who is accused of raping a girl by organizing a beauty contest, will be sentenced to 7 years in prison.

During the hearing of his case, the Kathmandu District Court sentenced him to 7 years in prison and 75,000 rupees in compensation to the victim.

Pandey was accused of raping a girl by organizing a beauty pageant.

However, as he exceeded the scope of the rape case, he was charged with human trafficking.

On Jan 24, Judge Deepak Dhakal’s bench found Pandey guilty in this case.
