Monty Desai appointed as head coach of national cricket team

KATHMANDU: Indian coach Monty Desai has been appointed as the head coach of the Nepali national cricket team.

The Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) organized a program on the same day and informed that Desai has been appointed.

According to CAN Chair Chatur Bahadur Chand, CAN has signed a two-year contract with Desai.

Desai is required by the agreement to stay 240 days per year in Nepal.

Desai joined the Nepali U-19 men’s national cricket team as batting consultant in 2017.

Desai previously worked for the national team during the 2015 ICC T-20 World Cup qualifiers.
