Ranjith won an 82-crore lottery in UAE
He has been working in a money exchange company in Qatar's capital Doha for the past seven years, and on Jan 16, he purchased ticket number 232936.
KATHMANDU: A Nepali won an 82 million rupee lottery in Qatar.
Ranjit Kumar Pal, a Nepalese living in Qatar, won 2 crore 3o lakh dirhams (approximately 82 crore Nepalese rupees) in Abu Dhabi’s series 248 of the Big Ticket Raffle draw.
He has been working in a money exchange company in Qatar’s capital Doha for the past seven years, and on Jan 16, he purchased ticket number 232936.
Pal, who was overjoyed when he learned he had won the money, stated that he would send the entire sum to his family in Nepal. ‘I don’t believe. ‘I want to go back to Nepal and spend this money on my family,’ he said.
He had been purchasing lots for the previous 15 months.
Previously, 31-year-old Bharat, a Nepalese car washer in Dubai, won a lottery worth 22 crore (22 million) rupees.
