KATHMANDU: Kailali-2 MP Arun Kumar Chaudhary, who was sentenced to 6 months imprisonment in the arson incident, has been sent to jail.
He is sentenced in a 13-year-old arson case.
The police arrested him from Banke on Thursday. Arun Chaudhary, who was presented in the District Court Kailali today morning, who was sent to jail, Judgment Executing Officer Rajendra Joshi said.
He said that he can file an application for the facility of 155 from prison, he can also appeal against the decision of the district court.
Kailali District Court sentenced 3 people including him to 6 months imprisonment and a fine of 8 lakh 75 thousand rupees in the case of setting fire to a tractor in 2066. Chaudhary, an elected MP from Kailali (2) was convicted in 2067.
Three people, including him, were sentenced to 6 months in prison by the Kailali District Court. The Kailali District Court has found three people guilty of torching Mahadev Bajgain’s tractor. The court also found MP Arun, Parshuram Chaudhary, Arun and Bir Bahadur Chaudhary guilty.
They beat the tractor driver Sajan Chaudhary and set fire on tractor. After the complaint was filed, all three of them fled without appearing in court to give a statement.
