Case against 3 people including the then secretary involved in building a bridge where there is no road
They are accused of violating the agreement by changing the location and name of the bridge when the Gandaki government built a bridge over the Daraudi river in Jarawar, Gorkha Municipality-3 at the time.
POKHARA: The Authority has filed a corruption case against three people, including the former Physical Secretary of Gandaki, for causing irregularities in the bridge’s construction.
The Authority has charged the then-Physical Secretary Ishwor Chandra Marahatta, the then-Acting Director of the State Road Directorate Ram Kumar Shrestha, and the Senior Division Engineer of the Infrastructure Development Office Gorkha Om Raj Dhungana with corruption by causing damage to public property.
They are accused of violating the agreement by changing the location and name of the bridge when the Gandaki government built a bridge over the Daraudi river in Jarawar, Gorkha Municipality-3 at the time.
The authority has accused the authority of abusing its position by spending state funds in inappropriate places. Fove crore 445 lakh 52 thousand 671 corruption cases were filed against the then Secretary Marhatta.
The then director Shrestha embezzled 5 lakh 71 thousand 780 rupees which was paid for giving the name of an imaginary road in the construction of Daraudi river bridge.
A fine and imprisonment have been demanded against him, as well as a demand for the same amount.
Engineer Dhungana of Gorkha is accused of spending the budget without first obtaining forest permission.
