9,000 patients treated for free at three KMC camps in Achham
During the five-day camp, 9,178 patients received free treatment in Panchadewal Binayak Municipality, Mangalsen Municipality, and Kamalbazar Municipality.
KATHMANDU: More than nine thousand patients have benefited from the free health camps conducted by Kathmandu Medical College at Sinamangal in Kathmandu at three locations in Achham district.
During the five-day camp, 9,178 patients received free treatment in Panchadewal Binayak Municipality, Mangalsen Municipality, and Kamalbazar Municipality.
Three thousand seven hundred patients were treated for free during a two-day camp held in Binayak in collaboration with the Panchadewal Binayak Municipality.
A one-day camp held at Achham Multipurpose Campus in collaboration with Mangalsen Municipality treated 2,131 patients for free.
The two-day camp held in Kamalbazar municipality in collaboration with the municipality benefited 3,285 patients.
According to Narayan Dahal, General Manager of KMC, 1,702 video x-rays, 1,369 blood tests, 768 ECGs, and 537 echoes were performed in three camps.
Four hundred six patients whose treatment is no longer possible have been referred to KMC for further care.
Dr. Sunil Sharma, the owner of KMC, arranged for free hospital treatment for all patients referred from the camp.
The municipality will assist them in getting to the hospital.
KMC sent a team of 18 specialist doctors to the camp. After knowing that a specialist doctor had come from Kathmandu, the camp was crowded with patients.
