KP Oli Cup: Satdobato beat Police to reach semi-finals

KATHMANDU: Satdobato Youth Club defeated Nepal Police Club 2-1 in the ongoing KP Oli Cup football tournament in Kathmandu and advanced to the semi-finals.
Satdobato’s Deepak Raj Singh Thakuri scored two goals. Prabin Thapa of the Police scored a goal.
Thakuri, who gave Satdobato an early lead by scoring in the injury time of the first half, scored the second goal in the 71st minute to secure Satdobato’s place in the semi-finals.
Prabin scored a goal for Police in the 49th minute to tie the game at 1-1.
Satdobato will now face the winner of the semi-final match between Tribhuvan Army Club and Newrod Team (NRT).
The match between Army and NRT will take place tomorrow (Friday) at 11 am.
According to the organizer National Youth Association, the winner will receive one million dollars in cash and the runner-up will receive five million dollars in cash in addition to the title.
The tournament winner will receive a cash prize of one lakh rupees. Similarly, the best goalkeeper, scorer, and emerging player will each receive 50,000.
Each match’s winning team will receive 25,000 in cash.
