KATHMANDU: Narayan Kaji Shrestha, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Physical Infrastructure and Transport, has stated that work on expanding the ring road will proceed rapidly.

On Thursday, during the deferred monitoring of the Kalanki to Basundhara area under the second section of the ring road expansion, Minister Shrestha stated that the work will proceed quickly now that the problems encountered during the expansion have been resolved.

He stated that physical structures such as pillars are obstructing the road expansion areas, and that now that the sites in most of the areas have been vacated, the work will be accelerated.

He stated that the electric poles and some road structures had been removed.

The monitoring was attended by Chinese Ambassador to Nepal Chen Song, Executive Director of Nepal Electricity Authority Kulman Ghising, Head of Kathmandu Metropolitan City Balendra Shah, and others.
