KATHMANDU: The standing committee meeting of CPN Maoist Centre to be held on Wednesday.

The standing committee will meet only on Wednesday, according to spokesperson Krishna Bahadur Mahara, as homework on the political situation, party strengthening, division of labor, and other issues was not completed during the official meeting held at the party office in Parisdanda on Monday.

The Maoist Standing Committee was supposed to meet on Tuesday. According to Mahara, it was decided at the officers’ meeting on Tuesday to do more homework and to hold a standing committee meeting on Feb 1.

He stated that there was no discussion in the meeting about who would be in charge of the Home Ministry. He claims that the party will not intervene as the Prime Minister will make the decision on the ministry.

Before that, as he was leaving the meeting, Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda said that when asked by the media who would be the Home Minister, he would know after becoming the Home Minister.
