SURKHET: Local residents stayed outside their homes all night after false rumors of a ‘earthquake’ spread in Karnali State’s Himalayan districts.

After a witch doctor in Humla spread the rumor of an earthquake, residents of Humla, Jumla, Mugu, and other districts spent the entire night burning fire outside their homes.

The rumors spread late Sunday night, and residents remained outside their homes in the cold weather.

Overnight, rumors of an earthquake in the Himalayan district of Karnali spread widely.

The Humla District Administration Office is looking for a witch doctor who spreads rumors.
