KATHMANDU: The government intends to study and investigate the issues raised by Prem Prasad Acharya, who set himself on fire in front of the Parliament building.

Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister Rabi Lamichhane stated that the cabinet meeting held on Wednesday at Singha Durbar discussed Prem Prasad Acharya’s self-immolation and the issue raised by him.

Lamichhane stated that the home will conduct an investigation and take the necessary steps. He also stated that appropriate action will be taken based on the investigation’s findings.

Prem Prasad Acharya, 37, of Ilam’s Suryodaya Municipality, attempted self-immolation by sprinkling petrol on his body in front of Parliament House in Baneshwor, expressing his dissatisfaction with various issues. On Wednesday, he died during treatment.
