BIRATNAGAR: Gajendra Acharya, a senior advocate, has been appointed Chief Attorney General of State 1.
Senior advocate Acharya, who lives in Jhapa Kamal Rural Municipality, has been appointed Chief Justice.
Hikmat Kumar Karki, Chief Minister of State 1, has appointed Acharya as Chief Justice.
The chief minister’s secretariat has informed him that he is prepared to take the oath of office at 1:30 p.m. Chunamani Acharya, Bhojraj Shrestha, and Parivartan Rai were previously appointed.
According to Article 160 of the Nepalese Constitution, each state has a Chief Justice who reports to the Advocate General and is appointed by the Head of State on the recommendation of the concerned Chief Minister.
