Acharya, who attempted self-immolation in front of Parliament building, died

KATHMANDU: Prem Prasad Acharya ‘Santosh,’ who attempted self-immolation, has died.

Acharya who attempted self-immolation in front of the Federal Parliament building on Tuesday afternoon died during treatment.

Dr. Kiran Nakarmi confirmed Acharya’s death, a 37-year-old resident of Ilam’s Suryodaya Municipality who was being treated at hospital in Kirtipur.

80 percent of his body was burnt when he attempted self-immolation by pouring petrol on him.

Police said they are further investigating the case.
