Boxing Championship: Trish & Bijay stoped in semi-finals
Trisha Zawegu was defeated on points by Kazakhstan's Erjan Gulsay in the women's 75 kg oil group on Jan 22, and Nepali boxer Bijay Bata was defeated on RAC by Indonesian boxer Meskita Michael in the men's 86 kg oil group on Jan 23.
KATHMANDU: Bijay Bata and Trisha Zawegu of Nepal were defeated in the semi-finals of the ASBC Asian U22 Boxing Championship 2023, which took place at the Huamark Indoor Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand.
Trisha Zawegu was defeated on points by Kazakhstan’s Erjan Gulsay in the women’s 75 kg oil group on Jan 22, and Nepali boxer Bijay Bata was defeated on RAC by Indonesian boxer Meskita Michael in the men’s 86 kg oil group on Jan 23.
Susma Tamang of Nepal advanced to the finals of the 48 kg weight class by defeating her opponent Besyenwei Jarnaguli of Mongolia in the third round via Referee Stop Contest (RSC). Tamang defeated Vietnam’s Qunhan 5:0 in the quarterfinals.
Nepal has already collected three bronze medals from the ASBC Asian U22 Boxing Championship 2023.
