“Expert Cup Football” with a prize money of $5,000 to be organized in Sydney
The top two teams in the competition will receive trophies and cash prizes of $3,000 and $1,500, respectively, as well as medals.
KATHMANDU: The Expert Cup football tournament is starting from Jan 22 at Webbs Avenue in Sydney.
The competition is going to be organized by Tamang Recreational Club.
The club’s secretary, Baikuntha Dangol, announced that 16 different local Sydney teams will compete in the competition, which will be played on a league and knock out basis.
The top two teams in the competition will receive trophies and cash prizes of $3,000 and $1,500, respectively, as well as medals.
Individual awards will be given to outstanding players, top scorers and best goalkeepers in the same competition. Group A of the tournament consists of 4 teams Para Park, St. George Friends, Gorkha Warriors and Camcy.
Similarly, in Group B, the other 4 teams are TRCC Red, Nepal United, FC Danfe and Granville Rhino, the organizer said.
Similar groups include Machhapuchchhre FC, Sydney Nepalis, West United and Hansby FC. Group D will feature TRCC Blue, The Brigade Club, St George’s Naples, The Rising Gorkhas.
Manjit Ghimire, General Manager, stated that as sports are an important means of maintaining discipline and mutual brotherhood, expert cooperation and harmony will continue in such competitions.
