KATHMANDU: The Congress drew the attention of the Home Minister after UML MP Laxmi Mahato Koiri, who is on the police wanted list for murder, participated in the Parliament meeting.

Ramhari Khatiwada, a Congress MP, drew the attention of Home Minister Rabi Lamichhane.

He demanded that further action should be taken only by arranging that MP Koiri could not vote. “Now the election of the speaker is going on. It has been heard that the parliamentarians accused of murder are also present here when the Speaker’s election is to be held today,’ MP Khatiwada questioned and said, ‘I want to make a request to the Home Minister, we do not know her. If she is present, then I would like to demand that the meeting be conducted only by deciding whether she will be allowed to participate in the voting process.’

Parliament has a schedule for electing the speaker today. MP Laxmi Mahato Koiri, who is absconding on the charge of murdering security personnel, has not been arrested even though she was walking around the Parliament.
