Paul Shah acquitted by Tanahun District Court, claim found to be insufficient
District Court Tanahun ruled that the claim was not sufficient and cleared Shah.
KATHMANDU: The Tanahun District Court on Tuesday acquitted actor Purna Bikram Shah, popularly known as Paul Shah, who was on trial on the charge of raping a minor.
Shah had been under judicial custody at the Tanahun prison in Damauli awaiting a final verdict from the court.
District Court Tanahun ruled that the claim was not sufficient and cleared Shah.
But he will not be released from jail. The Nawalpur court has previously sentenced him to 2 and a half years of imprisonment. He has been in prison since last Chaitra (March/April).
Actor Paul Shah, who is under investigation for rape allegations, has been cleared.
The police registered a case in Tanahun court on the charge of rape of a minor girl.
A single bench of District Court Tanahun Judge Komal Prasad Acharya cleared him on Tuesday.
