Lamichhane as future chair of ANNFSU, Niraula & Badal main rivals
There are three main contenders for the next chair.
KATHMANDU: The 23rd National Congress of the CPN (UML) close student organization ANNFSU is being held in Kathmandu on Feb 14-16.
There are three main contenders for the next chair. Senior Vice Chair RC Lamichhane, Vice Chair Lokesh Niraula and General Secretary Samik Badal are engaged in internal preparations for future leadership.
All three are central members of the 20th Congress of Janakpur. Lamichhane and Niraula competed for the chairmanship of the Kathmandu Campus District Committee in 2067, prior to the 20th Congress. Niraula was elected there.
The 22nd National Convention in Kathmandu elected Lamichhane and Badal as secretaries, while Niraula was elected as secretariat members.
Nabina Lama was elected president of Baneshwor Campus, Baneshwor, in the 2062 FSU elections, while Niraula was elected vice president. Badal was elected as a member of FSU in the Tri-Chandra Campus in the 2062 FSU election.
