Former police chief Pradhan to be appointed as a minister by RPP

KATHMANDU: The Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) will enter the government led by Rajendra Lingden.

The high-level political apparatus met on Monday evening to finalize the division of ministries, according to which the RPP got three ministers and one minister of state.

RPP got the Ministries of Energy, Water Supply, and Youth and Sports. Lingden will join the Deputy Prime Minister as Minister of Energy.

Dhurba Bahadur Pradhan, Vice Chair, has also been confirmed as a minister. He was elected from Nawalparasi West-2 and is a former police chief.

One additional minister and one state minister have yet to be appointed. Chair Lingden will consult with party leaders before appointing a minister.

Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ is expanding the cabinet in the afternoon. There are 14 MPs from RPP in the House of Representatives.
