KMC launches ‘Combo Biplane Cath Lab’ service (photos included)
The hospital has opened this new technology lab for complex vascular and neuro procedures.
KATHMANDU: Kathmandu Medical College (KMC) Teaching Hospital located in Sinamangal has started the latest version of Combo Biplane Cath Lab for neuro, cardio and vascular treatment services for the first time in Nepal.
The hospital has brought this new technology lab for the treatment of complex vascular and neuro procedures.
For the first time in Nepal, the hospital has begun the service by installing a machine with 3D imaging of the heart, dubbed ‘Tavi,’ as part of a package facility. With ‘Fordy’ imaging, the hospital has used vasculature for complex liver lesions, heart valve opening, AVM and tumor embolization, and chemoembolization.
The hospital began operations under the direction of Dr. Om Murthy ‘Anil,’ Dr. Rajesh Nepal, and Dr. Sanjay Shrestha.
The hospital also stated that with the help of the new modern machines, both diagnosis and treatment of the disease will be possible in the cath lab at the same time.
The hospital has started treatment services using cath lab technology from Monday.
