KARNALI: The fourth meeting of the Karnali State Assembly’s first session, which was scheduled for today, has been postponed due to national mourning.
The meeting has been postponed due to the tragedy of Yeti Airlines’ plane crash in Pokhara on Sunday morning. Yeti Airlines’ ATR-72 aircraft, carrying 68 passengers and four crew members from Kathmandu to Pokhara, crashed into the Seti River gorge in Pokhara’s New Village.
After the accident, the government declared today a holiday of national mourning. State Assembly Secretary Jivraj Budhathoki said that today’s meeting of the State Assembly has been postponed as the country is in mourning due to the loss of life and property caused by the plane crash.
According to him, according to sub-rule 930 of Rule 6 of the Karnali State Assembly Rules, 2079, a notification has been published that the meeting of the State Assembly will be held on Tuesday, Jan 17 at 1 o’clock.
