Pokhara plane crash: Journalist Tribhuwan Poudel among the dead
Poudel died in a plane crash while returning from Kathmandu to his hometown of Pokhara.
KATHMANDU: Tribhuwan Paudel, a central member of the Federation of Nepalese Journalists and the editor of the Pokhara Hotline Daily, was a passenger on the Yeti Airlines plane that crashed in Pokhara early Sunday morning.
Poudel died in a plane crash while returning from Kathmandu to his hometown of Pokhara.
Poudel, who is also the vice chair of the Press Center Nepal, which is located near the Maoist Centre was the press coordinator for then-Finance Minister Krishna Bahadur Mahara.
He came to Kathmandu to meet with officials from the press center.
He got married about four years ago and lived in a Phulbari in Pokhara. Paudel has one child.
The Kaski police have confirmed that journalist Paudel was among the dead in a crash.
The Yeti Airlines flight, which took off from Kathmandu Airport at 10:33 a.m., carried 72 passengers and four crew members.
Flight attendant Anju Khatiwada, pilot S Hunchu and flight attendant Oshin Ale Magar were on board the aircraft flown by pilot Kamal KC.
The plane carried 68 passengers, including 11 foreign nationals and three children.
Of which 41 are women and 27 are men.
There are 5 people from India, 4 people from Russia, 2 people from Korea, 1 person each from Ireland, Argentina, Australia and France.
