Huge property gutted in Damak fire

KATHMANDU: A fire destroyed nine shops in Damak’s Namuna Bazar in the Jhapa district early this morning.
According to police, the fire damaged a large property.
The fire that broke out at 2:00 a.m. this morning destroyed the entire inventory of the shops, mostly those selling shoes and clothing.
The cause of the fire has not yet been determined.
However, Dilip Giri, Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) of Area Police Office, Damak, stated that the fire could have been caused by a power outage.
The police are gathering information about the losses.
The fire was doused at 5:00 this morning with the efforts of local residents, police and fire engines from Damak, Kamal, Gauradaha, Kanepokhari and other local levels in Jhapa.
