Politics been dominated by three former PMs: Gagan Thapa
General Minister Thapa claimed, citing former Prime Ministers Sher Bahadur Deuba, KP Oli, and Pushpa Kamal Dahal, that after the Nov 20 election, Nepali politics was only focused on ex-Prime Ministers trying to surprise and overthrow each other.
KATHMANDU: Gagan Kumar Thapa, General Minister of the Nepali Congress and a former minister, has said that Nepali politics is like an arena of three former prime ministers.
Speaking at the public and interactive program of the book ‘Power struggle: 28 Government details’ in 30 years, organized by journalist Ramkrishna Bhandari, held in Kathmandu on Saturday, he also recalled that he had said during the election that he would become the prime minister to lead the country even if it took 2-4 days to save the country from the rivalry between the former prime ministers.
He claimed that the problem arose as a result of the inability to change political leadership. ‘Nepal’s politics resemble the battleground of three ex-prime ministers. One ex- assaulted another on Sunday. Another ex to another on Tuesday. We can only see which ex-prime minister hit which ex-prime minister from Nov 20 to now,’ he said.
