KATHMANDU: The victory of Nepali PUBG Mobile team DRS Gaming, who finished second in the 2022 PMGC grand finals, was celebrated at the Vianet Communication office. DRS’s ISP Partner, sponsor, and long-time supporter is Vianet.

Deepesh Gurung, Shahas Bhandari, Subin Kumar Prajapati, and Sammer Gurung, members of the DRS team, were recognized at an event hosted by Vianet CEO Sewa Pathak Bohara.

DRS spoke about their inspiring journey to the global championship final and how Nepal’s internet connectivity enabled them to advance in the global PMGC arena.

They discussed how Nepal’s Internet connectivity has advanced to meet international standards, allowing the Nepalese esports industry to grow and professional gamers to compete globally.

Mr. Sangin Bhattarai, DRS Gaming’s Head of Operations, added that Vianet has been their first choice for Internet access due to its low ping, stable connection, and prompt service.

Vianet CEO Sewa Pathak Bohara assured the DRS team that the company is committed to continuing being the preferred Internet of choice for gamers and is further aiming to enhance Vianet’s product portfolio curated for gaming. The company will continue to support the esports industry in Nepal.

On January 8, DRS Gaming, one of Nepal’s most popular PUBG teams, made history by finishing as the first runner-up in the world’s largest PUBG gaming tournament, which featured 51 teams from around the world and was held in Jakarta, Indonesia. The team members split a $200,000 cash prize for their historic performance.
