KATHMANDU: Narayan Kaji Shrestha, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Physical and Transport, has been monitoring the condition of Kathmandu’s roads.

He inspected the roads, including Kathmandu’s Lainchaur Lazimpat Sorhakhutte.

During the monitoring, Minister Shrestha directed that the road potholes be repaired as soon as possible, as well as the disorganized cabinet of the Electricity Authority and the mud caused by the Melamchi water supply project on the road.

He also directed that the problem be resolved as soon as possible because there had been complaints that people were suffering as a result of the road.

When asked by journalists whether Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal, who is accused of failing to work on time with contracts for various projects, will also take action against Prachanda’s landlord Sharada Prasad Adhikari, he stated that action will be taken against anyone who is found to be irregular in their work.

However, urging the Prime Minister not to get involved in such matters unnecessarily, he stated, ‘We don’t know whose brother, who is whose, anyone who is unable to work on time and who is irregular will come under the scope of action.’

The inspection was also attended by Ministry Secretary Gopal Prasad Sigdel, Ministry officials, and Kathmandu Valley Water Supply Limited officials.
