Mirchaiya student death case: Victim’s family being threatened
They are putting pressure on the family of the deceased to accept the money.

JANAKPURDHAM: A 15-year-old Siraha Municipality 11 Bhaluwahi student studying at Sagarmatha Secondary School in Mirchaiya died on Jan 7 evening as a result of school negligence.
On Jan 6, when she asked for water to drink medicine, the teacher gave her spirit instead. She became increasingly ill.
The school took her home rather than to the hospital because she appeared to be unconscious after consuming spirit. She fainted unconsciously at home, and her family members drove her to the hospital.
She died in the hospital while receiving treatment. On Sunday, a day-long protest was held in Mirchaiya for justice of the girl who died as a result of the school’s extreme negligence.
The protest calmed down only after the police filed a case against school manager Pradeep Tiwari and Ambika Lamsal, a teacher who was said to have given the spirit.
The police have filed charges against them for murder. The manager Tiwari and the teacher Lamsal have been detained and are being investigated by the police.
Even if the police prosecute the case, the deceased’s family is concerned that they will not receive justice. The reason for this is the various forms of pressure placed on the deceased’s family.
Several people are making their way to the deceased’s home on behalf of the school. Shrawan Yadav, Mayor of Mirchaiya Municipality, visited the deceased’s home on Monday morning. Similarly, others continue to arrive at his house.
They are putting pressure on the family of the deceased to accept the money. Dharmendra Mahara, the father of the deceased, said, “We are under pressure to settle the case with money, but we want justice.” Ranjit Mahara, uncle of the deceased, alleges that instead of not coming to the house to pressurize the deceased, the mayor threatened him. “Now everyone in the house is worried, he told the mayor not to come to the house and put pressure on him to do anything that will cause more pain. He threatened that I have raised 50 hooligans like you,” he said.
Locals claim that the people’s representative has subjected them to mental torture when they should be fighting for the victims’ justice. They have also asked the government to protect the deceased’s family and to bring justice to the deceased.
