KATHMANDU: Leela Giri, the newly appointed Chief Minister of Lumbini State, will take the oath of office and secrecy today.

According to the state chief’s office, Chief Minister Giri, who is also the leader of the CPN-UML parliamentary party, will take the oath of office today at 1 p.m. at the state chief’s office in Dang Deukhuri.

Giri has the support of 58 MPs including 29 from CPN-UML, 10 from the CPN-Maoist Center, 4 from Rastriya Prajatantra Party, 4 from Nagarik Unmukti Party, 3 from People’s Socialist Party, 3 from Janamat Party, 3 from Loktantrik Samajwadi Party and 2 Independents.
