JANAKPURDHAM: Saroj Kumar Yadav, the parliamentary party leader of the Janata Samajwadi Party (JSP), has been appointed chief minister of Madhesh State.
Yadav was elected Chief Minister with the backing of two independent and power-sharing parties.
He is said to have been elected from Bara Constituency No. 1 (2) and served as Chief Minister for two years and six months. Yadav, who are you? Yadav is Madhes state’s first speaker.
He was elected from the then-RJP in 2074 in Bara Constituency No. 1 (2), this time from the JSP.
He was born on 2028 Magh 10 (24 Jan 1972), and currently resides in Simraungadh Municipality 3. His political journey has been lengthy. He began his political career with the then-Nepal Sadhbhawana Party and was elected chairperson of Hariharpur VDC in 2054.

Elected to the Constituent Assembly from Bara Constituency No. 1, he served as Minister of State for Commerce and Supply in 2066 and Health and Population in 2068.
Similarly, Yadav, who was the Sadhbhawana Party’s general secretary in 2069 and vice president in 2073, remained vice president even after the formation of Rajpa Nepal.
He was elected to the state assembly from the then-RJP in 1974. RJP became JSP after merging with the party led by Upendra Yadav. At the time, he was the Speaker.
He remained silent, claiming that the speaker is self-sufficient. Mahanth Thakur and Upendra Yadav were not chosen. He later became close to Upendra Yadav’s JSP. He is now the Chief Minister after being re-elected on the JSP ticket in the general election.
