Prithvi Jayanti: RPP’s invites PM Prachanda on refreshment ceremony

KATHMANDU: The Rastriya Prajatantra Party will hold a refreshment ceremony to commemorate the birthday of Prithvi Narayan Shah, the pioneer of Nepal’s unification campaign on Wednesday, Jan 11.
The 301st birth anniversary of Prithvi Narayan Shah, the activist for Nepal’s unification and the creator of modern Nepal, falls on Jan 11, and a refreshment ceremony has been planned to mark the occasion as the ‘301st Prithvi Jayanti and National Unity Day,’ according to RPP.
Mohan Shrestha, RPP’s spokesperson and head of publicity, announced that a refreshment ceremony will be held on Wednesday from 1 to 4 p.m. at Bhrikutimandap in Kathmandu.
According to Shrestha, the ceremony has been invited to the Prime Minister, ministers, heads and leaders of various political parties, high-ranking personalities of the Nepalese government, and personalities who have achieved fame in various fields of Nepal’s national life.
Modern Nepal was founded by King Prithvi Narayan Shah of Nepal’s Shah dynasty.
Shah was born in 1779 Poush 27 in Gorkha and was the person who tied Nepal, which was divided into different states, to the formula of unity.
