KATHMANDU: Two local levels in the Kanchanpur district have decided to collaborate for the management of stray cattle.

An agreement to this was reached between Mayor of Krishnapur Municipality, Hemraj Ojha; and Chairperson of Laljhadi Rural Municipality, Nirmal Rana, on Monday.

They discussed how they could work together to manage stray cattle at ward no 3 of Krishnapur Municipality and ward no 5 of Laljhadi Rural Municipality. They would jointly bear the cost of management.

As per agreement, the two local levels would forward collaboration and cooperation even by coordinating with other bodies relating to stray cattle, said Chairman Rana, adding that stray cattle is a huge problem at both local levels.

Earlier, Shuklaphanta Municipality in the district managed stray cattle by establishing pinfolds.

Similarly, Bidkot Municipality has also confined such cattle near its office.

Bhimdatta Municipality has forwarded the process to buy a land to manage stray cattle.
