KATHMANDU: The people have high hopes and expectations from the new House of Representatives and the government, according to Madhav Kumar Nepal, Chairperson of the CPN Unified Socialist Party.
Congratulating newly appointed Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda, he stated that the time has come for Prachanda to demonstrate tangible changes.
He stated that the majority of the power partner party has arrived and that they do not want to change the government immediately.
He stated that the current prime minister should follow and protect the constitution, referring to the dissolution of parliament by CPN-UML chairperson KP Oli.
He stated that while defending democracy and federalism, we should progress toward prosperity by understanding the essence of socialism.
He said that the most serious issue at the moment is widespread corruption, irregularity, laxity, and impunity.
He stated that many distortions exist in Nepali politics, such as talking too much and doing less work, speaking one language and doing another, and that such distortions should be removed.
He said that the revenue is not able to cover the regular expenses at present and he said that the distressed economy should be brought to the right place.
He said that the government should take measures to reduce import, increase agricultural production, promote employment, and remove the problem of meter business.
He said that the government should act to end the problems caused by natural disasters such as cold waves, floods and landslides.
He said that the government should focus on solving the problems faced by all communities, regions and castes, including tribals, Muslims, Janatatis, Dalits.
He said that the problems seen in the fields of education, health and development should be solved and legal justice should be followed.
He said that even after 12 years, the national identity card is not being distributed, he said that it should be done as soon as possible.
He also wished that the MPs and the new government could move forward with a sense of responsibility towards the people.
