KATHMANDU: Thirteen Nepalis who were held hostage in Malaysia have been rescued.
According to the Prime Minister’s Secretariat, six of the rescued will return to Nepal on Tuesday.
On Monday morning, Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ directed Chief Secretary Shankardas Bairagi to investigate the situation of the Nepalis who had been kidnapped and other issues and to take immediate action to release and rescue them.
Following the same instructions, the government contacted the Nepali Embassy in Malaysia via the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. After learning about the situation of the Nepali hostages, 13 Nepali citizens working for Malaysia’s PAS Forest Management Company are set to return home.
