Khagraj is sure to become CM in Gandaki, ready to submit claim today

POKHARA: Khagraj Adhikari, the UML leader, is almost certain to become the chief minister of Gandaki State.

The central member and chief officer of the organization department left the House of Representatives to become Chief Minister of the State.

He has previously held the positions of Union Health Minister and Union Home Minister. Man Bahadur Gurung, the state’s outgoing Member of Parliament, was given the ticket to the House of Representatives after the officer expressed interest in becoming Chief Minister. Adhikari Kaski was elected from Kaski 1 constituency.

Maoists have a significant claim in the Gandaki. However, due to the package agreement at the center, it is said that the Maoists have no chance of capturing Gandaki.

The official is expected to submit the claim to the Chief Minister today, with the support of 32 MPs. However, the state chief, Prithviman Gurung, has extended the deadline until 4 p.m. tomorrow.

“The government’s plan is to file a claim by 4 p.m. today,” UML MP Roshan Gaha Magar said, adding, “We are ready.” We’re just waiting for the center to make a decision.’

As only one party has a majority in Gandaki, the government will be formed in accordance with the constitution’s article 176 sub-section 920.

UML has 22 seats in Gandaki, Maoist has 8, and RPP has 2. However, the power alliance stated that the Gandaki decision will be decided at the 5 p.m. meeting.
