KATHMANDU: The Nepal Samajwadi Party (NSP) will also form a negotiating team.

The negotiation team will be formed today at 11:00 a.m. at the party office Suvidha Nagar Tinkune following a meeting of the political committee.

NSP has planned for the Maoist Central Party’s unity. Meanwhile, a meeting was held in Baluwatar between the Chairperson of the Maoist Center, Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda,’ who is also the Prime Minister, and Dr. Baburam Bhattarai, Chairperson of the National Socialist Party. Prachanda and Baburam are getting ready to join the same political party for the first time in 7 years.

Following a meeting of the CPN Maoist Center, a negotiation team was formed, led by Vice Chair Krishna Bahadur Mahara. The negotiating team includes Secretary General Dev Gurung, Deputy Secretaries Girirajmani Pokharel, Janardan Sharma, and Shakti Basnet.

After the then Constituent Assembly promulgated the constitution, Bhattarai announced his abandonment of Maoism on 2072 Ashoj 9 (26 Sept 2015).

Later, he founded the New Shakti Party. Later, he merged this party with JSP. After several disagreements with JSP Chairperson Upendra Yadav, he founded the Nepal Samajwadi Party.

This party of Bhattarai contested the election on the election symbol of the CPN-Maoist Party in the House of Representatives and State Assembly elections held on Nov 20.

According to the agreement reached at that time, now these two parties are about to unite. For this, the two leaders had a meeting on Saturday.
