ANNFSU raised issue of full proportional representation with PM

KATHMANDU: The All Nepal National Free Students Union (ANNFSU), a student organization affiliated with the CPN (Unified Socialist), presented Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal “Prachanda” with a demand for full proportional representation in the FSU elections.

A team led by ANNFSU Chair Sudesh Parajuli today met with the Prime Minister and submitted a memorandum to the Prime Minister with this demand.

Prime Minister Dahal, who is also the chancellor of Tribhuvan University, has demanded that FSU elections be completely proportional, claiming that the Swaviyu election system is too expensive to represent all students.

Also in the memorandum is that due to the lack of self-government, there is no periodic election in the university, the administration’s arbitrariness is rampant, inconsistency, corruption, and irregularity have increased in the university, there is no quality education, the academic calendar, curriculum, and examination system are disorganized, as a result of which the children of laborers, laborers, and farmers have been directly affected.

While reading the memorandum, Prime Minister Dahal said that he will discuss with the concerned bodies regarding the proportional FSU elections and form an opinion on how the election system should be, Milan Rai, the spokesperson of ANNFSU said.
