Govt holding elections for NA vacancies on Feb 8

KATHMANDU: The government will hold elections for the National Assembly’s vacant seats on Feb 8.

Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Bishnu Prasad Paudel gave this information while announcing the decision of the Council of Ministers held on Thursday.

Khimlal Bhattarai, elected from Lumbini State, resigned from the House of Representatives before the election. Following that, elections will be held in vacant seats.

Bhattarai, a member of the National Assembly, resigned before the deadline for registering nominations for the House of Representatives election on Oct 9.
